Up and coming elections would like to remind the northside to keep the gentleman that is Frankie Daly in mind for their number one vote!! Frankie is genuinely out to help and better the community and stand up for important issues that others would like to sweep under the rug such as the Nurses Strike not so long ago, Frankie has always been supportive of our garden and officially opened our 1916 garden of remembrance along with Willie O'Dea have always been happy to invest there time in community projects. His actions have always spoke louder than words and Frankie is a man for the people, This is who we need as a pillar of our community for our opinions and thoughts to be taken note of and brought to the right people so we can see results and most importantly CHANGE!! WE KNOW WHO WE ARE VOTING FOR!!

New additions for the coming year !

Posted 5 years ago, 20 Mar 2019 by Cathal Mc Carthy Profile Cathal Mc Carthy

Due to the ongoing costs of electricity in our garden we have decided to go solar with the lighting to keep costs down. As soon as the fresh weather picks up and stays around for a bit we plan on repainting , planting , and adding some new additions to our beautiful garden in preparation for the anniversary of the holy garden! We would also like to thank Alberto from Italy who came all the way from Italy with his group to see our garden first hand its heartwarming to see people just as passionate and impressed by the garden the way we are. As a community its very rewarding for our hard work and time to be acknowledged , We are very proud of what we have accomplished and with the luck of god will continue to do what we love with the garden. We would also like to say how great the Moyross Community Centre is looking and it's great to see it is finally up and running it really was worth the wait!!

This time of year is about reflecting and we feel its only fair to thank all of our own for all of the hard work they've put in to our garden it's still an ongoing project but the effort and help we've gotten from our committee is always the best we could ask for, We can't thank you enough... And on a finishing note let's all remember it's not whats under the tree that matters , it's about who is around it!

Its been awhile since we came on to update people on how the garden is doing, and the going ons in general! We've been busy getting the garden ready for the Christmas holidays like every year there will be alot of preperation going in to it to make it a magical place for everyone. Big thanks to John Ryan who's has helped us tremendously with the upkeep of the square , decorating of the garden and the greenery! Along with Michael Bennett , Jade Daly , Tom Daly and Jamie Daly we couldn't have done it without you. Hopefully coming into the new year the brand new community centre will be finished with so many resources to help everyone in our community so lets make sure we make use of it!! To top it all off Tidy Towns have reached out and lent a helping hand with the garden which is more than we can say for our county council. We will be having our celebration of the holy souls at the end of this week so all our welcome we hope to see ye there! Lastly we would like to extend our congratulations to young boxer Lee Reeves on his debut and brilliant win recently its nice to see one of our own make it!

UP THE MATCH!!!!!!!!

As we are enjoying the hustle and bustle of our victory in Limerick the past day or two , we thought we would take the time out to voice how unbelievably proud we are as a county of the hardworking young men on the Limerick Hurling Team. What an achievement it is to be part of such a monumental , emotional moment for many! The performance of the lads was nothing short of amazing and was a well deserved win for each and every player on the team! One thing we have always had as a county is passion , dedication and determination and that showed all the way through the All Ireland Final on Sunday! After 45 years these gentleman took it home and made their county ,coaches, family and friends the proudest they could have with the heart and soul they poured into not just the final , but also their training and the lead up to said event. It was another great achievement to see Corpus Christi Choir performing on Up The Match the Saturday night. You couldn't have picked a more talented and deserving group of kids to perform and I think we speak for the whole of the city that it was heartwarming to watch and all of you definitely did fellow Limerick woman Dolores O'Riordan proud it was beautiful and such a big step in the right direction for us as a community we have alot of superstars to come! And on a finishing note .. COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN!!!

Our Blossoming Garden Prospering In This famous Irish Heatwave!

Posted 6 years ago, 12 Jul 2018 by Cathal Mc Carthy Profile Cathal Mc Carthy

We've been busy bees this summer with making new additions to the Moyross Community Garden. As you can see we've planted a range of new flower beds, vegetable patches and fruit patches. As we referenced in one of our recent articles due to the neglect on the community centres behalf when it came to the upkeep of cutting the grass and maintaining the greenery we decided to make the job that bit easier on ourselves and used the money we've saved up this year to purchase some machinery for the garden since nobody else is gonna lend a helping hand. At this stage it is an outrage that one area of a community can be discriminated against the way we have been over the years just because we stick up for the people and want our community to progress and be seen as equal. we will be having an end of summer fun day sometime in August for the kids with face painting and refreshments more details will be added on a later date , And we would also like to extend a big thank you to the Monks of Moyross for running a great summer for the moyross community again this year it's a great treat for them now that schools out and the community really appreciates it!!
